This web-based meet-up will provide participants with an overview of Michigan's Foster Care Review Board Program including relevant statutory authority and program policies. Participants will learn about the purpose and structure of case review and foster parent appeal meetings, as well as best practice tips on how to properly prepare.

The Child Welfare Services (CWS) department is part of the Michigan State Court Administrative Office (SCAO). CWS provides assistance to circuit court family divisions on child welfare matters, including child protective proceedings, foster care, adoption, termination of parental rights, permanency outcomes, and data collection and analysis. CWS administers the Michigan Court Improvement Program (CIP), the Foster Care Review Board Program (FCRB), and the training program for the Governor’s Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect. CWS provides numerous multi-disciplinary trainings each year on a variety of child welfare issues.
